The stable update of HyperOS 3 based on Android 16 has started rolling out for the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, which is the company’s latest system upgrade globally. The main objective of this update is to improve the phone’s performance, user interface, security and overall experience. HyperOS 3 is actually Xiaomi’s own Android 16 based OS that includes not only Android features but also Xiaomi’s own UI changes, AI features, and additional functions. Some European and international units have already started receiving Build 3.0.5.0.WOAEUXM version, which is around 8.9GB in size, so users are advised to use a fast and stable internet connection while updating.
This update is especially important for the Xiaomi 15 Ultra as earlier users were waiting for the update on the Global Rom, and some have received HyperOS 3 on their Regional Rom (EU), while others are still waiting. Users on forums like Reddit have reported that the update is rolling out in some regions while others aren’t available yet, so the location-wise rollout by Xiaomi is clearly happening and all models will eventually get it.
The HyperOS 3 update brings a number of major changes that are based on the latest Android 16 principles. The first major change is a new look in UI/UX design, with system interface icons, menu animations, and navigation interactions made cleaner, faster, and more modern. The new launcher and home screen grid allow users more customization and better design choices that make using the phone more enjoyable than ever before.
It also introduces a new feature called Hyper Island, which provides an experience similar to Apple’s Dynamic Island, and helps make apps’ functions like live activity, notifications, calls and music more convenient. Overall system performance and security have also been improved based on Android 16, including better memory management, more efficient bug fixes, and improved power management.
Although the HyperOS 3 update has been announced, its rollout for the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is happening in phases. Users in the first few countries and regions have started receiving the update, particularly in Europe (EU) some users have seen the HyperOS 3.0.5.0 update on their devices, but it is not yet fully available in other regions. Users have also commented on social media that some places are seeing the update while others are still waiting.
Xiaomi had already announced that it plans to fully roll out HyperOS 3 to several models globally starting from October to January 2026, with the Xiaomi 15, 15 Pro, 15 Ultra and other high-end models prominently included. Due to this multi-phased rollout, some customers will get the benefit first while others will have to wait a little longer, depending on the customer’s region-wise servers and company policies.
With the arrival of HyperOS 3 (Android 16), Xiaomi 15 Ultra users will see great benefits on their devices. The most important changes are improved system performance, modern UI, fewer bugs, improved animations, and a new security layer that is significantly better than many Android 15 or HyperOS 2 based versions. Due to these updates, users will face less issues like any kind of caches, slow system and sluggish performance, and the new features will provide a better experience in the long run.
Moreover, based on Android 16, manoy data privacy, better third-party app support, and advanced navigation options will also be added to the device, which take the user experience to the next level. Although some users have reported experiences on Reddit or other forums that there are some issues due to battery usage or memory management, the general opinion is that overall HyperOS 3 is a clear upgrade and it improves the quality of the smartphone.
